DMCA & Copyright Policy
How PinSave responds to copyright takedown requests — our designated agent, what a valid notice must include, and how we handle repeat infringement.
Last updated: 2026-09-07
PinSave is a download tool, not a hosting service. We do not store, re-encode, or redistribute Pinterest videos or images. When you use the tool, we resolve a public Pin's media URLs and stream the file straight from Pinterest's own CDN to your device. Because we act as a conduit for publicly available links rather than a repository of copyrighted files, we operate under the "transitory communications" exemption in 17 U.S.C. §512(a).
That said, we take copyright seriously and respond to valid takedown requests.
Designated Agent
Copyright complaints should be sent to our DMCA Designated Agent:
- Email: dmca@pinsave.app
- Subject line: "DMCA Takedown Request"
We do not publish a physical mailing address because we do not maintain user accounts or stored content. Email is the fastest way to reach us. (Rights owners may also register a formal designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office; our intake email above is monitored for takedown notices regardless.)
What a valid notice must include
To process your request under the DMCA, your notice must contain all of the following (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)):
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material that is infringing, reasonably sufficient for us to locate it — for PinSave, that means the Pinterest Pin URL (e.g.
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1234567890/). - Your contact information: address, telephone number, and a working email address.
- A statement of good faith that you believe the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
What we do on receipt
When we receive a notice that meets the above requirements, we will, within 72 hours:
- Remove the identified Pin from our resolution cache so it cannot be resolved again through the tool; and
- Block future resolution of that Pin id at the parser level, disconnecting access.
Because we never store the underlying file, "takedown" means disabling our tool's ability to point at that Pin — we do not host anything to take down.
Counter-notification
If you believe a Pin was disabled in error, you may send a counter-notice to dmca@pinsave.app containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material and where it appeared before disabling.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the disabling was a mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court where you reside (or any judicial district if you reside outside the United States).
Repeat infringers
We reserve the right to block access for users who are repeat infringers or who abuse the service to circumvent copyright.
Limitations
This policy covers material that PinSave resolves or links to. It does not apply to content hosted by third parties that we do not control. Rights owners are ultimately responsible for enforcing their rights against the underlying source.
